At Sterling Retirement Resources, it’s our goal to keep you moving forward. That’s why we have Melanie Deets in the role of Registered Client Relationship Manager. Melanie handles the set-up and maintenance process for client accounts. She also acts as the hub, fielding client questions and requests. In short, she keeps everything organized and takes the worry and burden off of you.
Melanie does not take her role at Sterling as relationships manager lightly. She is a high communicator, providing frequent updates and following through on requests. In addition, she is in charge of social media and orchestrating the charitable involvement at Sterling.
After working as a program analyst for the United States Geological Survey, Melanie joined the client service team for a Minneapolis-based investment firm. She then moved to Sterling in 2013. Melanie holds the FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 securities registrations.

Melanie Deets was born in Hawaii and lived in Pennsylvania and Missouri before moving to Minnesota in 2008. What brought Melanie here? In addition to a career opportunity, her identical twin sister’s Twin Cities residency was a major draw. Melanie has since put down roots with her soon-to-be husband and their terrier mix, Sammy.
A long-time athlete, Melanie enjoys cheering on the Vikings and Wild, although she admits that she knew nothing about hockey before moving to Minnesota. She lives an active lifestyle and enjoys yoga, volleyball and kickboxing at Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping in Plymouth. (The same spot frequented by Megan!)
Melanie also enjoys teaching herself to cook, trying out any new recipe she can get her hands on. If you have any seafood or Italian recipes to share, be sure to bring them to Melanie the next time you’re at Sterling Retirement Resources.
“I come from a large family that’s very spread out so it’s hard to get everyone together. Spending as much time with them as I can or perhaps moving closer together would be a goal. I’d also like to travel more often. St. Thomas was one of my favorites!”
