Instead of pursuing law school after completing a political science undergraduate degree in 2011, Luke Strom took a job in the insurance industry. He became fascinated by all the methods to help clients plan for their financial security. Prior to joining Sterling, Luke served as the in-house financial advisor to over 2,000 employees internally at a local Fortune 500 insurance company. At the same time, Luke began building his own financial planning business.
As a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional with over a decade of industry experience, Luke enjoys taking data and transforming it into relatable action steps for financial planning. He has an easy manner with people and a true interest in finding just the right pieces for each plan.
Luke is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He also holds his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation, and achieved his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) credential to focus on advanced financial planning.

“Creating new memories with my family is a top priority. I can’t wait to watch/coach London’s sports and activities as she gets older.”
Luke Strom is a born-and-raised Minnesotan from Minneapolis, and he plans to keep it that way. He and his wife (Sara) and daughter (London) live on Lac Lavon Lake in Apple Valley, where he enjoys fishing on the lake, canoeing, and pontoon rides, as well as playing with their two cockapoos, Tui and Koa. The dogs were named after favorite memories from a college trip to New Zealand.
After playing soccer in high school and college, Luke continues to follow the sport; playing occasionally while coaching various high school programs as well as serving as an assistant coach for his alma matter, Gustavus Adolphus College.
It’s not hard to get Luke talking; just ask about his long list of travel dreams.
